HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) for MS/MPhil & PhD Admissions
The HEC Aptitude Test (HAT) is a standardized admission test introduced by Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan for entry into MS/MPhil and PhD programs. This test is conducted by the HEC through its testing body, the Education Testing Council (ETC).
Previously, universities conducted their own departmental test for MS/MPhil and PhD admissions. However, HEC has now directed universities to only accept the HAT conducted by HEC/ETC for admissions into MS/MPhil and PhD programs.
This is a good initiative to ensure transparency and merit in the admission process by having uniform testing standards for MS/MPhil and PhD admission.
