A. Argument-Based Essay
Topic 1: Should Social Media Be Limited for Students?
Social media has become an important part of modern life. Students use applications such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for communication and entertainment. However, many people believe that excessive use of social media negatively affects students’ education and personality. Therefore, social media usage should be limited for students.
Firstly, social media wastes a lot of students’ valuable time. Many students spend several hours scrolling through videos and chatting online instead of focusing on studies. As a result, their academic performance decreases. Secondly, social media can affect mental health. Students often compare themselves with others, which may create feelings of depression, anxiety, and low confidence.
Moreover, social media exposes students to inappropriate content and distractions. Young students can easily become addicted to online entertainment, making it difficult for them to concentrate on important tasks. Limiting social media can help students develop healthy habits and improve productivity.
On the other hand, social media also has educational benefits. Students can learn new skills, access educational material, and communicate with teachers and classmates. However, these advantages can still be enjoyed with controlled and balanced use.
In conclusion, social media should not be completely banned, but its use should be limited for students to ensure better academic performance, mental health, and personal development.
Topic 2: Should Public Transport Be Improved in Pakistan?
Public transport plays an important role in the daily lives of people. In Pakistan, many citizens depend on buses, vans, and trains for travel. However, the public transport system still faces many problems. Therefore, the government should improve public transport facilities across the country.
Firstly, better public transport can reduce traffic congestion in cities. Many people use private vehicles because public transport is overcrowded and unreliable. If comfortable and efficient transport is available, more people will choose it instead of using personal cars and motorcycles.
Secondly, improved public transport can reduce pollution. Fewer private vehicles on roads mean less fuel consumption and lower air pollution. This will create a healthier environment for citizens.
Moreover, good transport facilities benefit students and workers who travel daily. Affordable and safe transport saves time and reduces travel stress. It also supports economic development by improving mobility.
Some people argue that improving public transport requires large investments. However, the long-term benefits for society and the economy are much greater than the costs.
In conclusion, Pakistan should invest in improving public transport because it will reduce traffic problems, decrease pollution, and make travel easier for people.
Topic 3: Should Uniform Be Mandatory in Educational Institutions?
School uniforms are common in many educational institutions around the world. Some people support the idea of compulsory uniforms, while others believe students should have freedom in choosing their clothes. In my opinion, uniforms should be mandatory in schools and colleges.
Firstly, uniforms create equality among students. Rich and poor students dress alike, reducing feelings of inferiority and competition based on fashion. This promotes unity and discipline within the institution.
Secondly, uniforms help students remain focused on education instead of clothing trends. Students often waste time and money trying to wear fashionable clothes. Uniforms reduce this distraction and create a serious learning environment.
In addition, uniforms improve security. It becomes easier for school staff to identify students and outsiders on campus. Uniforms also create a sense of identity and pride among students.
However, some people argue that uniforms limit personal freedom and self-expression. Students may feel uncomfortable wearing the same dress daily. Despite this, the benefits of uniforms are greater than the disadvantages.
In conclusion, uniforms should remain compulsory because they promote discipline, equality, security, and a positive educational atmosphere.
B. Narrative Essay
Topic 1: A Memorable Day in My Life
One of the most memorable days of my life was when I won a speech competition at school. The competition was held on Independence Day, and many students participated. I was nervous because it was my first time speaking in front of a large audience.
I prepared my speech for several days with the help of my teacher and parents. On the day of the competition, I practiced repeatedly before going on stage. When my name was announced, my heart was beating very fast.
At first, I felt afraid, but after speaking for a few minutes, my confidence increased. The audience listened carefully and appreciated my speech with loud applause. When the principal announced my name as the winner, I felt extremely happy and proud.
That day taught me the importance of confidence, hard work, and preparation. I will always remember it as one of the happiest moments of my life.
Topic 2: An Unexpected Journey
Last summer, my family planned to visit our relatives in another city. We started our journey early in the morning by bus. Everything was going smoothly until the bus suddenly stopped in a remote area due to a mechanical problem.
At first, all the passengers became worried and impatient. The weather was very hot, and there were no shops nearby. However, the driver and conductor worked hard to repair the bus. During this time, passengers started talking to each other and sharing food and water.
After several hours, the bus was repaired, and we continued our journey safely. Although the journey was delayed, it became a memorable experience because it taught me patience and cooperation during difficult situations.
In the end, we reached our destination safely and enjoyed our visit. That unexpected journey became an unforgettable adventure for me.
Topic 3: My First Day at College
My first day at college was both exciting and nervous. I woke up early in the morning and carefully prepared for the day. I was worried because I did not know anyone at the college.
When I arrived, I saw many new students and teachers. The college building was large and beautiful. After attending the orientation session, I started feeling more comfortable. Some students introduced themselves, and soon I made a few new friends.
The teachers were friendly and explained the rules and academic system clearly. I attended my first lecture with great interest and confidence. During the break, I explored the campus library and cafeteria.
By the end of the day, my fear had disappeared completely. My first day at college gave me confidence and motivation for the future. It was the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
