CIMA

CIMA stands for Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. CIMA is a professional body of management accountants recognized across the globe. The head office CIMA is in London, United Kingdom. The national offices of CIMA are in various countries. CIMA is the world’s largest accounting body with more than 231000 students and members in 173 countries.

CIMA qualification is a remarkable accountancy and management qualification that is highly valued by employers across the globe. CIMA qualification prepares you for rewarding career in finance departments, audit firms, industry, banks, revenue and taxation setups, management organizations, commercial setups, budgeting and investment appraisal, local and multinational companies.

   Eligibility Criteria

CIMA has very flexible eligibility criteria that suit almost every student as given below:

  1. O-Level or Matriculations
  2. or A-Level or Intermediate
  3. or Under-graduation or graduation degree in any discipline (i.e. Bachelors or Master degree)
  4. or ACCA or MBA degree – these degrees makes you eligible for fast tract entry to CIMA by giving you exemptions from the first 11 papers of CIMA and enrolling you direct into the strategic level of CIMA.
  5. or other professional qualification – for other relevant professional qualification students are given exemption from some papers according to the rules devised by CIMA.

   Program Structure

CIMA program consists of 14 papers and 3 case studies. Besides that, a student is required to gain 3 years of practical work experience in order to get CIMA degree.

   CIMA Exams dates

  1. CIMA has a very flexible schedule.
  2. You can start CIMA program any time.
  3. Each paper has a two hours computer-based assessment (CBA) which can be attempted in any month of the year.
  4. Case study exams are held in February, May, August, and November.

   Where to study CIMA – Admission procedures

  2. Tuition for CIMA is offered by colleges in various countries.
  3. These colleges teach the courses of CIMA according to the syllabus of CIMA, UK.

Note. The above fees are for Pakistani students for the year 2021 and can vary slightly depending upon the country of students and year of admission. The above fees are payable to CIMA, UK for registration and exams. Besides that, student has to pay tuition fee and admission fee to the college where he or she enrolls for tuition.

   Paper Exemptions in CIMA

Students are given exemptions from some papers of CIMA depending upon the relevancy of their previous discipline. Students having MBA, ACCA of ACMA degree are exempted from first 11 exams of CIMA and are enrolled straight into Strategic Level. Such students will require to qualify the CIMA Gateway exam in order to become eligible for the exemption.

Students having other relevant qualifications can claim exemptions from some of the papers as per rules of the CIMA. The students having I.Com degree are exempted from the first four papers (Certificate in Business Accounting) and are enrolled into Operational level of CIMA.

Students, eligible for exemption, will require to pay the exemption fee for each exemption.
